Offduties is operated by Claritygrid LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We keep this simple — we're a small team and we have no interest in misusing your information.

Information we collect

When you create an account we collect:

• Your name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
• Profile photo URL from your Google account
• URLs and content you choose to save to Offduties
• Trip details and travel preferences you enter
• Device type and basic usage data (features used, save timestamps)

Location information

Offduties collects and uses location information in the following ways:

• Precise location (foreground only) — When you grant location permission, we use your GPS coordinates to show nearby saved places, suggest relevant saves when you are traveling, and match your saves to trips based on proximity. Location is only accessed while the app is open on your screen.
• Location in saved content — When you save a place from Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or other sources, we extract the location mentioned in that content (city, country, coordinates) to help organize your saves and match them to your trips.
• Approximate location — Used to group your saves by region and suggest trip destinations based on places you have saved.

We do not access your location in the background when the app is closed or not in use. Location data is stored on our servers and is never sold to third parties. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings → Offduties → Location.

How we use your information

• To power the core product — saving, extracting, and surfacing your content
• To match your saved places to your trips and projects
• To show nearby saves based on your current location (when permitted)
• To send you relevant notifications (upcoming trips, weekly digest) — you can opt out anytime in Settings
• To improve extraction quality and AI accuracy
• To contact you about important account or service changes

We do not use your data to serve you ads. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

AI processing

When you save a URL, we send content (page text, video frames, captions) to Google's Gemini AI to extract structured information such as place name, location, and category. This processing happens on Google's infrastructure under their API terms of service. We do not store raw video or audio permanently — media files uploaded for AI analysis are deleted after processing.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Offduties:

• Google OAuth — for sign-in authentication
• Google Gemini API — for AI content extraction
• Google Maps / Geocoding API — to convert coordinates to place names and vice versa
• Hostinger — for server hosting and data storage
• Expo / React Native — for app delivery on iOS and Android

Your public profile

If you enable a public profile, your saves become visible to anyone with your profile link. You control this setting and can turn it off at any time from Settings. Individual saves are not separately public or private — your profile is either public or private as a whole.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual saves at any time within the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, use the Delete Account option in Settings, or email us at hello@offduties.com. We will process deletion within 7 days. See our account deletion page for full details on what data is removed.

Children's privacy

Offduties is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
